The Nuts were a Detroit-based indie rock group, currently on hiatus. This past Spring, I had the chance to work with them and create a paid advertising campaign focused on increasing ticket sales for their final show. Working on a tight deadline, I built a campaign centered around paid ads on Instagram, targeting fans to follow smart links to purchase tickets. I utilized Meta’s “Lookalike Audience” feature to target potential fans in the area where the show was happening, which was the first time the group had performed in the area. I worked with a talented videographer to create a highlight reel for Instagram, and I designed a flyer as well. Optimizing our $150 campaign budget, we saw thousands of impressions and increased ticket sales by 65 tickets. After fees and other band splits, we had an ROI of 44%.
For one of the ads we ran, the flyer that I designed, we reached 3,225 different people. Total views for the individual ad were over 4,000, with a total of 4,400. This was a sharp increase compared to previous advertising efforts from the band, which was viewed by just over 1,000 people.

This is the flyer that I designed using Adobe Photoshop. All images were repurposed from their Instagram, where I edited together a few different images to get a single photo of the whole band. I used different textures for the background until I finally arrived at the one seen here. This was a great opportunity to be creative, and I had a lot of fun with it.
